MAREVA has rented cars from the centre of Kardamena since 1990. Below is who we are — and, more usefully, exactly what our insurance covers, what it does not, and every term of the rental, written the way we would explain it across the counter.
Who we are
Our priority has always been simple: guests who leave satisfied. That is why so much of what other companies charge for is free here — the insurance, the delivery, the baby seats, the second driver, the map.
We are based in the centre of Kardamena village, in the south of Kos. We also serve Kos Airport with free transport, Mastichari village and port (with at least three rental days), and every hotel in Kardamena. Come and meet us and our fleet — small, economical, compact SUV, spacious, automatic, hybrid, fully electric and cabrio.
And remember we are always one phone call away, with the best deal we can do on the day.
Insurance
Full comprehensive cover is included free of charge when the driver is aged 25 to 70. Whatever excess applies, it is written into the rental contract and nothing is ever deposited, prepaid or frozen.
Plan 1
€0.00included with every rental
Maximum liability €300. That figure is written into the rental contract and nothing more. No money is charged or blocked on a card or bank account — it is a promise to pay up to that amount for damage the insurance terms do not cover.
Plan 2 · optional
€7.50per day · €95 excess
The €95 excess is never deposited or blocked from any card or account. Like the €300, it exists only as a line in the rental contract.

The rental agreement
Please read these before you collect the car. They are also printed on the contract.
The renter may not let any third person drive the car without the company's consent. An additional driver can be added to the contract free of charge — just tell us at the office.
Free full comprehensive insurance applies to drivers aged 25 to 70. Our booking engine accepts the 25–72 age group; if you fall outside that range, contact us before booking.
One day of rental runs from 09:00 in the morning until 20:30 in the evening.
For rentals counted in full 24-hour blocks, the day runs 20:30 to 20:30, or 09:00 to 08:30 the following morning — the latter only for rentals of more than three days.
For rentals shorter than three days, the car cannot be returned later than 20:30 or the next morning without an extra charge.
You receive the car with a full tank and return it full. Fuel is the renter's cost.
All fines caused by violations of traffic law are charged to the renter. The renter must follow the traffic regulations at all times.
The car may not be shipped by boat to another island without the owner's consent. If you are planning a ferry trip, speak to us first and we will tell you what is possible.
We do not deposit or freeze money from a credit card or any bank account.
If an excess amount applies, it is not prepaid or deposited — it is written in the contract.
Cash is our preferred method of payment. Credit cards are accepted.
Free delivery and collection at Kos Airport and at every hotel in Kardamena.
We also serve Mastichari village and Mastichari Port (minimum three days of rental), Marmari hotels, Tigaki hotels and hotels before Kefalos — the village of Kefalos itself is not served.
For pick-ups after 17:30, please ask for a personalised offer rather than booking online, so we can arrange someone to meet you.
MAREVA Rent a Car reserves the right to change the prices of offers and their validity dates at any time, so it is worth asking us for the current deal.

Correct. No card hold, no bank transfer, no cash deposit. It is the reason most of our guests come back — and it is possible because the comprehensive insurance is already in place on every car.
Yes. Send us your flight number and we will be at Kos Airport when you land, with the keys and the paperwork. The same applies for the return leg. It costs nothing extra.
Baby seats and booster seats are free. Tell us the ages when you book so we can fit the right one before we hand the car over.
No. Unlimited kilometres on every car. Kos is about 45 km end to end, so you can drive the whole island several times over without a single extra charge.
Yes — the Skoda Citigo, the Seat Ibiza FR and the electric Geely EX5 are all automatic. They are the first cars to go in high season, so book them early.
Call us. 24-hour assistance is included, and because we are a local family business rather than a call centre, the person who answers is the person who can fix it.
